The Paleo Diet, also known as the Caveman Diet is a diet plan that is based on eating plants but not cereals with eggs, fish and meat. It is called the caveman diet because it is believed that the early man (Caveman) ate this diet 10, 000 years ago.

The original Paleo Diet focused on whole foods that only a hunter-gatherer from the ancient times would have access to, for example, vegetables, roots and tubers, meat, eggs, fish, nuts unprocessed oils, and seeds.

How does the Caveman Diet work?

The caveman diet is usually associated with weight loss because of its arbitrary food choices. Experts and supporters of the diet claim that humans are genetically programmed to eat just like the caveman did years ago. They further argue that the modern Western diet is responsible for the widespread high levels of obesity, diabetes, heart diseases and other chronic health issues.

Different definitions of the Paleo diet have been made by various groups of people. However, they all agree that sporadic eating, with episodes of intermittent fasting, should be observed just like the caveman would have done. During the rest of the day, you can eat foods like nuts, fruits, and vegetables.
